内容記述 | In June 2019, the Law Concerning the Promotion of Japanese Language Education was enacted. It is an urgent task for establishing a language education for foreign children in early childhood. In such an environment, the 8th symposium of the Oizumi multicultural childcare and education society was held on December 23th 2022. There were 34 participants including the topic speakers. Participants included the Oizumi Town Superintendent of Education, administrative officials from the Education Guidance Division, Welfare Division, Multicultural Cooperation Division, etc., ECEC providers, elementary and junior high school principals and teachers, and supporters of foreign families and their children. The themes of the topic presentations and designated discussions were "Challenges for Foreign Children after Entering Elementary School," "Indicators (Tentative Draft) Combining Assessment and Instruction with Grasping Language Acquisition Status," and "Future Direction of Language Education: Thinking through the Curriculum of the Early Childhood and Elementary Education Bridging Phase". It is significant that people involved in welfare and education in administrative, early childhood, and elementary school settings, as well as in research, have come together to consider the nature of language education for children whose native language is not Japanese. Once again, we shared the importance of the continuum of language education and development, which we believe has led to better support in the future. |
