| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to clarify the contemporaneity of "The Ninth Night" in Soseki Natsume 's "Yume Juya (Ten Nights Dreams)". First, it analyzes the position of the narrator. Next, it argues that the phrase "such a sad story" in the final sentence of "The Ninth Night" functions to connect this text to its contemporary context. Finally, by referring to Kusuoko Otsuka 's "Ohyakudo-mode" the paper examines the contemporaneity of "The Ninth Night" within the context of the Meiji period, an era marked by war. |
